Office goers in New Delhi were in for a pleasant surprise this morning when a spirited group of 50 young women zipped through the National Capital competing against each other in the 62 km long JK Tyre-YFLO Women’s Power Drive 2022. An annual event organized by Young FICCI Ladies Organisation (YFLO) together with JK Tyre, was flagged off today from the FICCI Federation House and culminated in The Palms resort in Gurgaon. Ms Somya Davar, Entrepreneur & motorsport enthusiast flagged off the rally along with Mr. Amit Gujral, Chief Marketing Officer, JK Tyre & Industries.

Held in the standard TSD (Time-Speed-Distance), the rally saw the participants bring the iconic roads of the national capital to life as they sped along in their luxurious rides.

JK Tyre-YFLO is one of its kind event that aims to promote the idea of motorsports and strives to empower women. Held in collaboration with FICCI, it is in line with JK Tyre Motorsport’s vision of encouraging ladies to take up this exciting sport.

Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Head-Motorsport, JK Tyre said, “With YFLO, JK Tyre aims to celebrate and make this Power Drive an enjoyable driving experience on the streets of Delhi NCR. As part of our ethos of promoting women in motorsport, we have specially curated motorsport events for women all along the year and it is heartening to see more and more women participants take up to the sport. We kick start the month of International Women’s Day with the YFLO Women’s Power Drive followed by our other events in Mumbai & Delhi that are scheduled in the next couple of weeks.”                            

The drive tested the ladies’ driving and navigational skills taking them through hitherto undiscovered city areas. The drive covered 62 km commencing from Federation House, Tansen Marg crossing centre of New Delhi, and drew to a close at The Palm Resort, Gurgaon celebrating the selfless efforts of women from all walks of life.

Members of the Young FICCI Ladies Organisation (YFLO) lined up enthusiastically at the FICCI House early in the morning, to unfold the experience on ease of handling and maneuvering on city roads.

Fun united with adventure, TSD rally is no easy feat as it requires calculation, and puts to test car’s reliability and responsiveness, a driver’s ability and a navigator’s accuracy in interpreting specific route instructions.

The winners of the JK Tyre-YFLO Women’s Power Drive were handed over their trophies in a fun filled ceremony in Gurgaon.
